Like many of you, I have been blessed with a fruitful livelihood and various achievements throughout my career. When I count my blessings, I tend to reflect on my indescribable business ventures and every person that has surrounded me with support through the years.  Over time, my peers recognized my accomplishments as a prosperous minority business owner, however, no one ever realized that deep down, I was living my life in the shadow of another person’s expectations.  I allowed societal opinions to dictate the person that everyone perceived, and I lived a life where my clothing, hair styles, and demeanor had to be acceptable to those around me.

In 2014, I mentally battled through a hurtful yet freeing experience.  Once I allowed myself to accept the challenges that stood before me, I was finally able to accept the person that God created me to be. That took four intense years of self-reflection. Now I am unapologetically free, living by my own rules, and understand the true meaning of what it is to be fearfully and wonderfully made.
